Omer ona yandan bir goz atti. Nihat’in bu kadar kendinden gecerek zirvaladigini ilk defa goruyordu:

Tu n'es pas comme tout le monde, tu es intelligent, supérieur aux autres, tu as le droit de les prendre en mains, c'est même ton devoir. Il suffit que tu le veuilles. Tu dois être absolument résolu et prêt à tout sacrifier pour atteindre ce but: diriger les autre, les commander. Il n'y a rien de tel pour gâter un homme que de vivre dans les rêves, d'entretenir les sentiments dignes d'un enfant, ou plutôt d'une femme. Je me demande comment tu as pu lier ta vie à une de ces créatures. Elles ne sont rien de plus que des jouets. Nihat leva la main comme pour le saisir à la gorge et marmonna :
