La battaglia di Manzicerta fu combattuta il 26 agosto 1071 tra l'esercito del sultano selgiuchide Alp Arsl�n e quello bizantino dell'imperatore Romano IV Diogene presso l'odierna cittadina turca di Malazgirt, al confine nord-orientale dell'Anatolia, vicino al lago di Van.
