This is an unbelievable number: looks like China's industrial capacity grew in the last 3 months by an amount equivalent to India's TOTAL industrial capacity.
This is according to Eric Li, a famous Chinese venture capitalist and political scientist, speaking 3 days ago at the Foreign Correspondents' club in Hong Kong who said that China went in 3 months from having the same industrial capacity as "US, Japan, Germany put together" to "US, Japan, Germany AND India".
To be fair, this could also be due to a reduction in the industrial capacity of US, Japan or Germany but in any case it highlights the relatively small size of India's industrial might compared with China, almost akin to a margin-of-error. This should give pause to anyone who believes India can become "the next China"...
